Using the client’s existing floor plan, Cherami creates a visual 3D representation of configured rooms and zones. Reader detections identify the current or last-confirmed area for a tagged file or asset.

Security rules and exit protection

Respond when a controlled item moves where it should not.

Rules can monitor selected assets, users, zones and schedules. If a tagged item approaches or crosses an exit without the required authorization, the system can create an immediate, visible event.

History, dwell time and APB search

What is RFID document and asset tracking?+

RFID tracking uses labels or durable tags, readers, antennas and software to detect documents or physical assets within configured areas. Cherami turns those detections into searchable location, movement and custody information.

How does Cherami determine where an item is located?+

Readers and antennas are installed around agreed rooms, zones, entrances, exits, yards or warehouse areas. Cherami’s software combines reader detections with the client’s existing floor plan to present the current or last-confirmed location in a visual 3D environment.

Does an RFID tag need to be scanned by hand?+

Not for normal passive detection within properly designed read zones. Compatible readers can detect suitable RFID tags without requiring a user to scan each item individually or maintain direct line of sight.

Can the system track files as well as physical assets?+

Yes. Suitable RFID labels or tags can be applied to files, document folders, equipment and other approved assets. Tag selection and placement are confirmed during solution design.

Can Cherami alert us if an asset leaves without authorization?+

Yes. Rules can identify tagged items approaching or crossing controlled exits without the required authorization. Depending on the deployment, the event can activate a light stack or local alert and send electronic notifications.

What is an APB or watch request for a file?+

An authorized user can place a missing or important item on a watch list. When that RFID tag is detected again, the system can notify the appropriate person by email or another configured channel.

Can users review where an item has been previously?+

Yes. Authorized users can review detection history, the zones in which an item was seen, when it arrived or departed and how long it remained at a location, subject to the configured retention and access rules.

Can RFID support check-in, check-out and chain of custody?+

Yes. RFID detections can be combined with user workflows for assignment, check-out, return, transfer and custody so teams have clearer accountability for sensitive or frequently moved items.

Where can the solution be installed?+
